SUMMER IN SLO
An unfamiliar stillness comes to San Luis Obispo when summer rolls around, like the fog that comes at night. The once busy streets are no longer lined with cars. The loud noises of the once busy neighborhoods settle down to a murmur. This murmur, however, is full of energy. It’s the energy of those who’ve stayed finally having the time and space to pursue their true interests. For me that was photography, and this book is a cumulation of what summer on the central coast looks and feels like. I set out this summer capturing nature and creatives here in San Luis Obispo. It brought me up and down the coast, from concrete skateparks to sandy beaches. This collection is mostly a compilation of my photos, featuring a few shots by Simon LaCapria, and is shot entirely in film. I hope these photos convey the natural allure of the Central Coast and the bliss of the people who are surrounded by it.
